Aliens in America: Day 20

Restrain Promotion

‘As aliens, live in reverent fear’ (1 Pet. 1:17)

‘Look on the bright side,’ Donald Trump said to leading Democrat and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. ‘Consider how woke your party has become. If Kamala loses, you still have a chance to become the first woman president.’

Make no mistake. The sexual confusion Biden platformed by picking ‘trans’ Rachel Levine as his Health (?!) Secretary will be shouted from the rooftops by Kamala. Expect a lot of ‘gay marriages’ in her appointments. Remember: she and Biden ensured the ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ in ’21, which changed the national definition of marriage from ‘man and woman’ to ‘two individuals.’ Pete Buttigieg may get the promotion of a lifetime.

Ouch. Under the Biden/Harris administration, ‘health’ and ‘respect’ were never more sexually fractured. LGBTQ+ rights advanced in America as never before. Protection of the vulnerable became promoting brokenness.

To be fair, Kamala never hid her rainbow stripes. She defied CA law twice by refusing to honor the people’s definition of marriage and celebrating the first ‘gay’ marriage there, albeit illegally.

Running mate Walz is equally yoked with her in the unhinged ‘gender’ department. He made Minnesota a statewide ‘trans’ refuge, banned any therapeutic change efforts for sexually confused teens, and voted for ‘trans’-women in male sports. Extreme.

As a caring lawman, he could have restrained bad solutions to deep problems. Instead, he has advocated for what breaks up individuals, families, and fairness in sports.

Don’t expect restraint from a Harris administration. Kamala’s quiet promotion of rainbow rights of late is a political maneuver. Soft-pedaling today will leap into high gear if elected. She promised in ’20 a national ban on therapeutic help for the confused and complete health benefits for anyone seeking medical ‘transitions’ under Medicare-for-all. She’ll still try to deliver on both, using the Equality Bill as her new vehicle.

‘The clearest indication of what a candidate will do in office is not what they are saying on the campaign trail but what they’ve done in the past,’ opines Marie-Amelie George, a legal scholar of LGBTQ+ rights.

Harris and Walz are a deadly duo who promote bad solutions for vulnerable people. During a recent rally, an excited young man asked Harris to marry him. ‘I can’t; I am already married, but there are plenty of men and women to choose from here,’ she replied, pointing to the crowd.

Trump will restrain promotion of LGBTQ+ rights and ideology. He isn’t opposed to existing ones (he supports ‘gay’ Log Cabin Republicans, for example) but advancing them is not his priority. Here he exercises good political sense, common sense that lines up with the majority who have assimilated rainbow culture but want its advance restrained in schools, funding (especially ‘transitions’), and women’s sports.

What does this do to DSM/LW? The Kingdom doesn’t come on Air Force one, and Jesus won’t transform fractured lives because of the former president.  Trump just won’t celebrate them, and that’s a good thing for kids taking cues from the culture.

A Harris win will make our lives and work harder. Troubling, but not overwhelming. We look to the King.

Misdirected leaders in the public square provoke us to heroism. They challenge us to reflect brighter than before the true image of God in humanity. And to mirror the winsome face of Jesus, who never turns away anyone who admits: ‘I’ve been handed fake liberties, and they only enslaved me. Now, only Jesus and friends. Only they can unwrap the grave clothes that conceal the truth hidden deep in me.’

That is what I am seeing today—vulnerable young men and women seeking to shed LGBTQ+ garments like rags. They will not bend the knee to the state. They want the Truth and to live the truth their bodies cannot shake.

I write this on the Feast Day of St. John Paul II, who defied a culture of death to inspire millions to live the freedom only Jesus can impart. Especially compelling to young adults, JP II declared: ‘History…is written first on the inside, in our consciences, through moral defeats and victories…This is not the time to be ashamed of the Gospel. Challenge what tries to crush life to the full like the first apostles who preached Christ to every town and city…now is your turn: preach it from the rooftops! If you are what you should be, you will set the world ablaze!’

‘Jesus, thank You for the generation who won’t take fake answers. Help us be the Church that rises and shines for them. Restrain promotion of false liberties; release through us the Love that satisfies. Grant us the courage, compassion, and patience to take ground in chastity together. Thank You for future voices who will declare the Way.’

‘Jesus, You are the King, and we are first citizens of Your Kingdom. Would you free us for You in this election season, not to hide but to shine? You’ve always asked nothing less from Your elect whom You have made ‘strangers in a strange land’ (Ex. 2:22). Here we are, a people who don’t know what to do but who look and listen to our King.

“Father of all holiness,

guide our hearts to You.

Keep in the light of Your Truth

all those You have freed from the darkness of unbelief.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son.”’

Amen
